California – Alan Potash, the former CEO of the Jewish Federation of Omaha, has tragically passed away at his home while recovering from heart surgery. His unexpected death occurred on Sunday night, leaving a profound impact on the community he served.
Potash held the position of CEO from 2015 to 2021 and had a longstanding connection with the Jewish Federation. His contributions included serving as the Cultural Arts Director at the JCC and as the Regional Director of the ADL/CRC. During his leadership, he guided the Federation through pivotal events such as the 2017 community study and the renovation of the Staenberg Kooper Fellman Campus, along with navigating the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
