Claremore, Oklahoma – A heartfelt memorial ride was held on Friday to honor Alexandre Escobar, a passionate motorcyclist who tragically passed away in a motorcycle crash on September 15 in Tulsa. Riders gathered at Route 66 Sports Bar, one of Alex’s favorite spots, to pay tribute to their friend and fellow biker.
Jake Browne, a close friend of Alex and a motorcycle safety advocate, led the ride. He emphasized the dangers that motorcyclists face daily and highlighted the need for road users to be more cautious. “It’s something we need to be very aware of, it’s an epidemic,” Browne said, recounting a close call he had while preparing for the event.
Browne’s reflections underscored the growing fatalities among motorcyclists, including two memorial rides for others he planned to attend that same weekend. He added, “Taking five seconds to look might save someone’s life.”
Alexandre Escobar was well-known for his love of riding and his talents as a mechanic. His sister, Lillian Escobar, attended the memorial, sharing emotional memories of her brother. “Being here, meeting all his friends and seeing all his favorite places is making me feel really close to him,” she said.
The event served as both a tribute to Alex and a reminder of the risks motorcyclists face. The rumble of motorcycles through Claremore echoed the love and respect his friends and family had for him.
Sara Whaley of FOX23 shared the memorial ride event on Facebook, where several others commented in support of Alexandre’s memory.
