Andrew Koldeway, Respected Firefighter EMT in Castle Rock, Passes Away Following Medical Emergency

Castle Rock, Colorado – Firefighter EMT Andrew Koldeway, a beloved member of the Castle Rock Fire and Rescue Department (CRFD), has tragically passed away after a brief battle with a sudden and severe medical condition.

Andrew, who had dedicated his life to serving his community, was announced dead on Wednesday, October 2, 2024.

His passing has left a profound impact on his family, friends, and fellow firefighters.

Andrew Koldeway, originally from Aurora, Colorado, joined CRFD in February 2023, bringing with him 21 years of experience in fire service.

He was admired for his leadership, bravery, and unwavering dedication to his colleagues and the public he served.

Beyond his professional life, Andrew was a devoted husband to Angie Koldeway and a loving father, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that will be cherished by all who knew him.

The Castle Rock Fire and Rescue Department expressed their sorrow, stating, “Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and colleagues as they navigate this unimaginable loss.”

The community has rallied around the Koldeway family, with donations being collected to support medical bills and funeral costs.

Jennifer Knight shared, “Praying for the family at this time,” while Gwen Schumacher added, “They were an absolutely awesome group of people.”
