New York, NY – Detective Anthony "Tony" Stewart, a highly respected member of the New York Police Department’s Highway Unit 2 and a passionate musician, passed away on October 26, 2024.
Known for his integrity, compassion, and commitment to service, Detective Stewart leaves a profound impact on colleagues, friends, and the broader community.
Detective Stewart served as a 9/11 responder and was a leader within the NYPD Highway Unit 2, embodying dedication and professionalism throughout his career.
Aside from his law enforcement duties, he was also an accomplished musician, leading the NYPD Jazz Band and bringing joy through music to those around him.
His passing has evoked an outpouring of tributes from colleagues and friends, remembering him as a "true leader" who brought warmth and positivity to the lives he touched.
