Jacksonville, Florida – Arthur Crofton, the cherished voice of 961 WEJZ, has sadly passed away, leaving behind an indelible mark on Jacksonville’s radio community.
For more than three decades, Arthur was a morning fixture in countless North Florida households, known for his warmth, humor, and engaging storytelling.
His passing was confirmed on September 26, 2024, sending waves of grief through both listeners and colleagues who had grown accustomed to his comforting presence on the air.
Mark Kaye, a fellow radio host, reflected on his passing, stating, “Arthur Crofton passed away… He was the first ‘competitor’ I ever met in town but was nice as can be… Cheers to an icon!”
Eileen Erikson, another fan, shared memories of Arthur visiting her workplace after winning a radio contest, saying, “He was such a nice man… Had a great time! Miss him! RIP Arthur!”
