Reno, Nevada – Barry Brown, a distinguished figure in both indoor and beach volleyball, passed away on December 20, 2022, at the age of 88.
His contributions to the sport left an enduring legacy, earning him recognition as one of the greatest players of his time.
Born on October 10, 1934, in Culver City, California, Brown made his mark as an All-American athlete at Stanford University, excelling in both volleyball and basketball.
His talents extended beyond the collegiate arena, where he achieved All-American honors with the Stockton and Hollywood YMCA teams, winning several national championships.
Brown also represented the United States in the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo and won a silver medal at the 1963 Pan American Games in São Paulo, Brazil.
