Kittson County, Minnesota – Becket Folland, a 10-year-old fifth-grade student at Tri-County School District, tragically passed away in a farm accident on October 25, 2024.
The incident occurred around 4:11 p.m. when emergency responders were dispatched to the accident site near Karlstad, Minnesota.
According to the Kittson County Sheriff’s Office, the young boy suffered fatal injuries in what authorities described as a rock windrower accident, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Becket was known as a beloved son, brother, and a cherished member of his school community.
His mother, Raechelle Folland, a registered nurse originally from Minot, North Dakota, is mourning the heartbreaking loss, along with the entire community of northwest Minnesota.
The sudden loss has left classmates, teachers, and family members devastated.
The community has rallied to support Becket’s family, with an outpouring of condolences and calls for prayers for his loved ones.
As of now, the Tri-County School District has not released an official statement regarding Becket’s death.
