Norma Anne Cleworth, a cherished member of the Astley View community, passed away peacefully on 19th September 2024 at the age of 80. A devoted wife to Peter, loving mother to Gillian and Philip, and a much-adored grandmother to Katy, Grace, Olivia, and Ella, Norma leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness.
Her funeral service will be held at Charnock Richard Crematorium on Monday, 7th October 2024, at 1:30 p.m., followed by a gathering at The Bay Horse on Babylon Lane, where friends and family are invited to share memories and celebrate her life. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Catherine’s Hospice in Norma’s memory.
Tributes to Norma poured in on social media, reflecting her impact on the lives she touched. “My hubby remembers Peter and Norma dearly when frequenting Bay Horse. Our deepest condolences to the family. R.I.P.,” shared Deborah Birchall. Former student Marjorie Daniels expressed, “Mrs. Cleworth taught me at St Michael’s and taught with my late mum. My sincere condolences to the family.” Louby Dougill added, “She was warm, humorous, and a super teacher.”
