Cari Cox Horton, a beloved member of the Tomball, Texas, community, has passed away after a battle with cancer. Horton’s son, Derek Cox-Berg, shared the heartbreaking news on social media, revealing that she passed peacefully in the morning on Monday, September 16, 2024. Her passing came as a shock to her family and friends, many of whom were unaware of the severity of her illness until it was too late.
Derek expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support the family received during his mother’s illness. "We did not find out until it was too late. She passed away peacefully… she is in a far better place," he wrote. He also shared details of the upcoming funeral service, which will take place at Spring Creek Church of Christ in Tomball on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
Tributes and condolences have been flooding in from friends and acquaintances, with many expressing their admiration for Cari’s kind spirit. "Your mom was such a wonderful person, she will be missed by so many," wrote Tracy Krismer Sarver. Another friend, Dawn Jones Oliphant, commented, "Cari was a beautiful soul inside and out."
