Royersford, Pennsylvania – The music community is mourning the loss of Bongo Bill, a beloved drummer and founding member of the band Beg, Borrow, and Steel, who passed away on October 11, 2024.
Bongo Bill, known for his lifelong passion for drumming and music, brought joy to many through his performances.
He was cherished not only for his musical talents but also for his warmth and friendship, making a lasting impact on those around him.
A celebration of his life will take place at Royersford Baptist Church on Monday, October 14, 2024, with visitation starting at 9:30 a.m. and the service following at 10:30 a.m.
Afterward, a luncheon will be provided, and burial will occur at Mt. Zion in Pottstown.
Reflecting on his life, Bill’s daughter, Samantha Gower, shared fond memories of her father setting up his drum set and playing solos at local venues.
“He was always there for me, and we shared so many moments, from sporting events to musicals,” she said.
Condolences poured in on social media, with Susan Davis expressing, “He always loved playing on Sundays for RBC. He will be missed.”
His legacy of music and friendship continues to resonate with all who knew him.
