Wilmington, Delaware – Brian Ratasiewicz, affectionately known as "Rat," has sadly passed away, leaving behind a profound impact on his community.
He spent his final day at an Open House event before enjoying a Phillies game with his Saint Mark’s family, a place he called home.
Ratasiewicz was widely known as a mentor, coach, and the voice of Saint Mark’s, frequently announcing at the school’s athletic events and serving on the baseball coaching staff.
In recent months, he joined the Student Services team, which he described as his dream job.
Social media tributes have poured in from friends and former students expressing their grief and admiration.
One heartfelt post by Sean Meginniss read, "Love you Brian Ratasiewicz… Damn you… this ain’t right!"
Frances Leary commented, "I’m so sorry for your loss," while Toni Luciano Tanz added, "So sorry, he was such a good guy! Always looking out for us when we were out."
Counselors from Saint Mark’s and Sean’s House are offering support to students grieving this significant loss.
Funeral arrangements are still pending and will be shared with the community once finalized.
