Carrie Shobe Kwok, Beloved Artist, Tragically Killed in Lowertown, St. Paul While Working on Art Project

St. Paul, Minnesota – Carrie Shobe Kwok, a 66-year-old artist from St. Paul, tragically lost her life in a shooting on the evening of Wednesday, September 25, 2024.

She was kneeling in the street behind the Lowertown Lofts Artists Cooperative, engaged in an art project when a man approached and fatally shot her.

The suspect, 29-year-old Seantrell Murdock, was later identified by the police and involved in a confrontation that led to his death during an altercation with law enforcement.

The tragic event has left the local community in shock, especially the Lowertown artistic community, where Carrie was known for her creative passion and her uplifting spirit.

Friends, family, and fellow artists have expressed their devastation, struggling to come to terms with the senseless violence that took her life.

Lisa Brannan posted on Facebook, “God I hate guns!!!!!!!!” reflecting the sorrow and anger of many in the wake of the incident.

Another social media user, Kate Ryan, expressed disbelief, commenting, “Did he even know her?”
