Mobile, Alabama – Charles Richard McLain, a 49-year-old man from Old Hickory, Tennessee, was tragically found dead in Mobile, Alabama, in what authorities are investigating as a possible suicide.
McLain, who was diabetic, had been missing since October 13, 2024, when he was last seen on his way to work in Old Hickory.
His body was discovered near the area where he had been sleeping, prompting an outpouring of grief from those who knew him.
Kennedy Williams, a friend of McLain, expressed sorrow on Facebook, saying, "He was such an amazing man and was always so silly towards me and other kids. He was so loved by everyone."
McLain’s disappearance led to a search after his phone was found in a field off Sells Drive in Old Hickory.
His vehicle, a black Ford Fusion, was also missing and was tagged with Tennessee commercial license plates.
Authorities have not yet released further details about the circumstances of his death, but the investigation is ongoing.
McLain is remembered by many for his kind spirit and positive influence on those around him.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the Old Hickory community.
