Frederica, Delaware – Christopher Shawn Brubaker, a cherished member of the community known for his vibrant personality and professional expertise as a live sound engineer, has passed away.
The news of his death was shared by his brother, Laurence Brubaker, through a heartfelt social media post on September 25, 2024.
Shawn Brubaker, often called “Ham Man” by his friends, was remembered for his ability to connect with everyone he met and his passion for music, gunsmithing, and conversation.
His sudden departure has left a void in the lives of those who knew him, especially his son, Landon, a special needs child who adored his father.
Laurence Brubaker organized a fundraiser to help cover the final expenses, stating, “It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Christopher ‘Shawn’ Brubaker… I am taking care of the arrangements, and I will make sure the funds get to where they need to go.”

Joan Huffman, a close friend, expressed her grief on Facebook, writing, “Christopher Shawn Brubaker, such a vibrant personality who could strike up a conversation with anyone he met. So many memories to treasure. My daughters called him ‘Uncle Shawn.’”
