Colin Bisset, Respected Historian and Key Figure in Sealed Knot, Passes Away After Sudden Heart Attack

Nantwich, UK – The Nantwich community and the members of the Sealed Knot are mourning the loss of Colin Bisset, a passionate historian and key figure in the annual Battle of Nantwich re-enactment, who passed away suddenly on October 15, 2024, from a heart attack.

Colin Bisset was deeply respected for his long-standing role in preserving historical traditions, particularly through his involvement in the Holly Holy Day re-enactment of the 1644 Battle of Nantwich, where he served on the event’s organizing committee.

A devoted member of the Sealed Knot, Europe’s largest historical re-enactment society, Colin was instrumental in keeping the tradition alive for both the local community and participants from across the country.

Tributes have poured in from colleagues and friends, with many expressing their admiration for Colin’s dedication to history.

One fellow committee member remarked, “Colin’s dedication and passion for history were unparalleled. He was the heart and soul of our Holly Holy Day events, and his presence will be deeply missed.”

The Sealed Knot also released a statement, expressing their sadness and recognizing Colin as a driving force behind the society’s activities.

Plans are already in motion to honor Colin’s memory at the next Holly Holy Day event, with one member noting, “We will ensure this year’s re-enactment reflects the spirit and passion that Colin brought to everything he did.”

Colin’s sudden passing has left a significant void in the hearts of his friends, family, and fellow re-enactors, who will carry on his legacy in the years to come.
