Art Palmer, a distinguished World War II veteran and dedicated community member, passed away on September 14, 2024, at the remarkable age of 105. Known for his contributions to the local Rotary Club and for being a proud POW, Palmer touched the lives of many during his lifetime.
His death has prompted an outpouring of tributes. “Art was a true legend, a wonderful human. May he rest in peace,” expressed Jill Straathof Reid, reflecting the sentiments of those who knew him. “Proud to have known him!” added Susan McAnally-Gelatt.
Palmer is survived by his children and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who cherish his legacy. A memorial service is scheduled for September 27 at 2 PM at Bethany Covenant Church, where friends and family will gather to honor his remarkable life.
