Dalton Heyer, Faribault Man, Tragically Dies in Fiery Motorcycle Crash Near Cannon Lake, Minnesota

Faribault, Minnesota – A tragic motorcycle crash late Thursday night claimed the life of Dalton Heyer, a 30-year-old resident of Faribault, Minnesota, authorities have confirmed.

The fatal accident occurred on Cannon Lake Trail, situated between Wells Lake and Cannon Lake, shortly before midnight on October 3, 2024.

Responding to a distress call about a major collision, Rice County emergency personnel arrived to find a motorcycle that had veered off the road and crashed into a line of trees, resulting in the vehicle catching fire.

Firefighters from the Faribault Fire Department and emergency responders from North Ambulance rushed to the scene to control the fire and assist, but Heyer was tragically pronounced dead at the site of the accident.

The community of Faribault has been deeply impacted by the sudden loss, mourning the death of a young man whose life was cut short.

Authorities from the Rice County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the conditions leading to the crash and are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
