Hazard, Kentucky – It is with profound sadness that the Maple Street Church of God announces the passing of Deborah "Dee Dee" Vitatoe, a cherished member of their congregation.
Deborah passed away on the evening of October 15, 2024, at approximately 6:30 p.m., just 15 minutes after arriving at the Hospice Center in Hazard.
Her death followed a courageous battle, during which she continued to uplift those around her with her unshakable faith and passion for music.
Deborah was a beloved member of the church’s worship team, always finding joy in the presence of the Lord.
Her devotion to God and her radiant spirit touched the lives of many.
As the community mourns this tremendous loss, they also take comfort in knowing that she is now in the Lord’s presence, free from pain.
Michelle Mullins Feltner, a close friend, shared on social media, "Sweetest soul and always smiling no matter how sick she was. She’s singing and rejoicing now without any sickness! Prayers for all her precious family."
The Maple Street Church of God is requesting prayers for the Vitatoe family during this difficult time, and they will share funeral arrangements once available.
