Dr. Jeff Shafer, Esteemed Emergency Physician and Paramedic, Passes Away in St. Louis, Missouri, Leaving a Legacy of Compassion

St. Louis, Missouri – Dr. Jeff Shafer, a respected emergency physician and paramedic, tragically passed away on September 21, 2024. His sudden departure has left loved ones and colleagues mourning a remarkable life dedicated to saving others.

Dr. Shafer, who faced multiple cardiac arrests due to an abrupt onset of angioedema, fought valiantly in the ICU before his passing. Known for his resilience, he had a profound impact on both his patients and the medical community.

Beginning his career in the early 2000s as a paramedic for O’Fallon-Shiloh EMS, Dr. Shafer later became a medical director in O’Fallon. His ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations made him a pillar of strength in emergency settings.

The O’Fallon Fire Rescue expressed their sorrow on Facebook, stating, “We are sad to hear of the passing of Dr. Jeff Shafer. He will be missed by so many.” O’Fallon Mayor Herb Roach added, “Dr. Shafer has left a lasting impression and will be missed… prayers for the family.”
