Carrick Park, Tasmania – Eileen Litherland, a beloved member of the Carrick Park Pacing Club and face painter for over 30 years, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2024, at the age of 92.
Her long-term dedication to the club and her role in bringing joy to countless children and families through her art has left an indelible mark on the community.
Eileen’s face paintings were a familiar sight at Carrick Park events, where her creativity and warm personality brightened the gatherings year after year.
In recognition of her decades of service, Eileen received an appreciation certificate at the conclusion of the 2022 Carrick Cup meeting, celebrating her invaluable contributions to the club.
Her passing has been met with an outpouring of heartfelt condolences.
Alexis ‘Lexie’ Jane shared, “RIP Eileen,” while Tanya King reflected, “Rest peacefully Eileen… many hours spent in the queue at Carrick Park listening to your stories.”
Karen Dornauf expressed her admiration, writing, “RIP Eileen, you were so dedicated to our Club and all the children… you were a lovely dedicated lady.”
