Culpeper, Virginia – Ernest A. Gibson, affectionately known as Gib, Gip, Pops, or Skipper, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2024, at the Culpeper Rehab Center.
His death has left his family and community mourning the loss of a cherished individual who embraced life with a love for simple pleasures.
Ernest, who had no savings or life insurance, leaves behind six stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many friends who knew him as a kind and generous soul.
Known for his joyful spirit, Ernest was often seen riding his lawn mower with a smile or enjoying peaceful moments fishing.
His love for country living touched the hearts of those around him.
Danielle Webster, his granddaughter, has organized a GoFundMe fundraiser to help cover the funeral expenses and final arrangements.
She wrote, “Your support would mean the world to us as we honor his memory and say our goodbyes.”
Angela Johnson, a family friend, expressed her condolences on Facebook, writing, "Please help my friend lay a loved one to rest."
