Gregory Higgins Donabedian, an esteemed member of the Chester community, passed away on September 16, 2024, at the age of 82. Born in New York City on April 6, 1942, Greg dedicated his life to public service, having served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps and later at the Centers for Disease Control. He was a devoted parishioner at Holy Family Parish.
Greg’s death has elicited heartfelt tributes from those who knew him. Linda Carroll recalled his kindness at church, while Kathy Relihan Kimball remembered him as a good man with a kind heart. "He was always kind & polite," said Debbie Ankuda, reflecting on his presence in the community.
A funeral mass is scheduled for September 26 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, followed by interment at the Vermont Veterans Cemetery. His legacy of compassion and dedication will be missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
