Harry Hughes, Beloved Hadleigh Community Member, Passes Away Peacefully at Age 98

Hadleigh, Suffolk – Harry Hughes, a cherished member of the Hadleigh community, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2024, at the age of 98.

His passing has deeply saddened those who knew him, with many remembering his warmth, kindness, and dedication to his neighbors.

Harry was a familiar and beloved figure in the town, often seen engaging with others and sharing stories from his remarkable life, including his experiences during the wartime years.

Debs Warren, a close friend, shared, “Harry you were just the best. Bringing me jam jars in exchange for more Jane and pickle! Always a lovely smile too and your garden was just the best.”

Others echoed the sentiment, with Janet Couldrick reminiscing, “I first met Harry walking my dog Bertie…he always had a cheeky smile and would tell you many tales about his wartime years.”
