Southern Lehigh, Pennsylvania – Jack Hankee, the dedicated Assistant Principal of Southern Lehigh Middle School, passed away on October 21, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of commitment to education and the community.
Jack Hankee had a long and impactful career in secondary education, having earned a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Mathematics from Kutztown University, a Master’s degree in “Technology for Educators” from DeSales University, and an administrative certification from the California University of Pennsylvania.
He spent 18 years teaching across all secondary levels, specializing in mathematics for grades 9-12, and was also actively involved in alternative education and gifted courses.
In addition to his role as an educator, Jack was a professional learning community (PLC) facilitator, focusing on data analysis and teaching strategies to improve student outcomes.
His administrative career included serving as the Dean of Students at Louis E. Dieruff High School for three years.
He was also deeply involved in his community, spending ten years as a coach for soccer and cross-country.
The Southern Lehigh community has expressed deep sorrow, with many extending their thoughts and prayers to his family and colleagues.
Jack Hankee will be remembered for his devotion to education and the positive impact he had on both students and fellow educators throughout his career.
