Houghton, South Australia – Jamie Mauritzio Corsaro, a 22-year-old father and resident of Houghton, tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident on Sunday, October 6, 2024.
The accident occurred in Hope Valley at 1:30 p.m., where Corsaro’s motorbike collided with an SUV on Grand Junction Road near Valley Road.
Emergency services arrived at the scene, but Corsaro was pronounced dead on-site due to his injuries.
The driver of the SUV, a 43-year-old man from Hope Valley, was not harmed in the collision.
Authorities closed Grand Junction Road between Awoonga Road and Valley Road as Major Crash investigators assessed the scene.
This tragic accident marked the 64th fatality on South Australian roads this year.
Corsaro, who was a beloved father and an employee at NCF Enterprises, has left behind a devastated family and community.
A heartfelt message from a friend read, "Rest easy brother, can’t believe we spoke this morning and just heard the news.
You’ll be missed."
Funeral arrangements for Jamie Corsaro will be announced by his family at a later date.
