Upper Saint Clair, Pennsylvania – Jason Shields, a cherished son, brother, and friend, tragically lost his life on October 28, 2024, in a workplace accident in Stowe Township.
He was just 34 years old.
Born on March 12, 1990, in Pittsburgh, Jason was a vibrant member of his community, known for his infectious laughter and ability to bring people together.
A proud graduate of Upper Saint Clair High School, he dedicated himself to a career in construction, where he was respected for his skilled craftsmanship and strong work ethic.
His life was cut short when he was struck by an excavator bucket while on the job, leaving his family and friends in shock.
Social media posts from loved ones reflect the profound impact he had on their lives, with Heather Mckay Shields expressing, “So very sorry Heather. Prayers for you and your family.”
Lynn Mykietyn Bumer added, “There will never be another Jason Shields!”
Jason is survived by his parents, Mark and Linda Shields, his sister Kelly, and a wide circle of friends who loved him dearly.
A memorial service is set for today, November 4, 2024, at the Upper Saint Clair Community Center, where the community is invited to honor his memory.
