Jesel Edolen Rodriguez Amaya, 16-Year-Old Motorcyclist, Tragically Killed in Charles County Crash

Waldorf, Maryland – Jesel Edolen Rodriguez Amaya, a 16-year-old motorcyclist from Waldorf, tragically passed away following a fatal crash involving a Ford Mustang on September 22, 2024.

The accident took place in the 2400 block of Old Washington Road shortly after midnight, according to reports from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.

Rodriguez Amaya was riding a 2003 Suzuki GSXR 600 when the collision occurred.

Authorities confirmed that the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Old Washington Road when his vehicle struck the Mustang, which was also headed in the same direction.

First responders arrived on the scene at approximately 12:11 a.m. but were unable to revive Rodriguez Amaya, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford Mustang remained at the location and cooperated with the investigation.

The crash reconstruction unit is actively investigating the incident, reviewing witness statements and surveillance footage to determine the exact cause of the collision.

Rodriguez Amaya’s death has left his family devastated, with his mother starting a GoFundMe campaign to assist with funeral expenses.

Friends and family have expressed their condolences, with many describing him as a kind-hearted and ambitious young man who had a passion for motorcycles.

The Waldorf community continues to mourn the tragic loss of this promising teen.
