Pampa, Texas – Kaley Bilyeu, an 18-year-old resident of Pampa, Texas, tragically passed away following a two-vehicle collision on Friday, September 20, 2024. The accident occurred at the intersection of US Highway 60 and Cuyler Street, where the Pampa Police Department responded at 6:09 PM.
According to police reports, Kaley was the driver of one of the vehicles involved in the crash and suffered fatal injuries, leading to her being pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, 20-year-old Erik Monserrat Hernandez, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Pampa Regional Medical Center for treatment.
After being released from the hospital, Hernandez was taken into custody and charged with intoxication manslaughter, a second-degree felony in Texas. This charge is brought against individuals who cause a fatality while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The Pampa Police Department is continuing its investigation into the accident to determine whether intoxicants were a contributing factor.
Kaley Bilyeu’s passing has left the community heartbroken, with many sharing their grief and condolences on social media.
