Marshall County, Indiana – Laura Shoemaker, a 68-year-old resident of Bremen, lost her life after a tragic collision between her vehicle and a train on Friday evening, October 4, 2024.
The accident occurred around 7:10 p.m. on King Road, just south of 1st Road, when an oncoming train struck the passenger side of Shoemaker’s Toyota Camry.
The impact caused the vehicle to be pushed approximately 50 yards east of King Road, where it came to rest.
Laura Shoemaker was the only occupant of the car at the time of the collision.
Emergency officials declared her dead at the scene due to the severe injuries she sustained.
