Birmingham, Alabama – Lauren Holbrook, a beloved graduate of Samford University’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy and resident of Birmingham, Alabama, tragically passed away in a car accident.
The heartbreaking news was confirmed by a close family friend, who expressed grief over the loss, saying, “Please be in prayers for my sweet Bestie Myra Franklin! Her granddaughter Lauren Holbrook had a fatal accident! She was a beautiful & sweet girl!”
Originally from Talladega, Alabama, Lauren relocated to Birmingham to pursue her studies in pharmacy, where she earned a Master of Public Health and a Doctor of Pharmacy.
She was actively involved in her academic community, holding leadership roles as Vice President of Phi Lambda Sigma and APhA-ASP International Vice President, while also participating in SNPhA, SSHP, and ASHP.
Lauren was known for her love of reading, traveling, and spending time at local restaurants and coffee shops.
Her career interests focused on primary care and cancer, with a specific emphasis on ambulatory care.
Lauren’s family, particularly her grandmother, Myra Franklin, cherished her deeply.
Her untimely death leaves a profound void among her loved ones and those she impacted through her academic and professional pursuits.
