French Valley, California – Lawrence Orso, a 46-year-old resident of Murrieta, tragically passed away on the morning of September 21, 2024, after suffering an unexpected heart attack.
Orso was discovered unresponsive in the parking lot near the 30000 block of Auld Road in French Valley, where deputies from the Southwest Sheriff’s Station attempted lifesaving measures.
Despite efforts from both deputies and paramedics, Orso was pronounced dead at the scene.
Just over an hour prior, at 8:26 a.m., Orso had been released from the Cois Byrd Detention Center following an arrest for driving under the influence.
The investigation into his death is ongoing, although no evidence of foul play has been reported.
Lawrence Orso, who served in the U.S. Navy for eight years and spent 15 years with the San Diego Police Department, is survived by his parents, two children, two brothers, and his girlfriend.
His daughter, Lexzie Orso, is organizing a fundraiser to cover funeral expenses.
In a heartfelt message, she wrote, “Lawrence passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack… Thank you all for the unwavering support I have been given thus far.”
The community continues to mourn the sudden loss of a man remembered for his service and dedication.
