Dreghorn, Scotland – Lesley McTear, a 59-year-old woman from Dreghorn, tragically passed away in a car accident on the A737 near Howwood in the early hours of Monday, September 23, 2024.
The incident occurred around 3:10 a.m. and involved a collision between a Mercedes A-class car, in which McTear was a passenger, and a MAN box van.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, including Police Scotland and ambulance teams, McTear was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash also coincided with reports of six horses running loose on the A737 at the time.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with additional information to come forward by contacting Police Scotland, quoting incident number 0291 of September 23, 2024.
In a statement, McTear’s family expressed their deep sorrow, describing her as "the glue that kept us all together" and noting that her unconditional love touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Condolences have poured in on social media.
