Mount Laurel, New Jersey – Raymond M. Jones, a dedicated resident of Mount Laurel, has tragically passed away at the age of 75 on September 22, 2024. Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Raymond was a long-time member of the Mayfair community before relocating to Mount Laurel four years ago.
Raymond was born to Carmela and Rudolph Jones and was a proud alumnus of Cardinal Dougherty High School, Class of 1967. His career included being the last known employee of the Penn Central Railroad, a position that highlighted his commitment to his work and community.
A passionate amateur historian and avid collector, Raymond was also a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. His warm spirit and enthusiasm for life made a lasting impression on those who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Elizabeth A. Jones, and their three children: Paul, Richard, and Marita. Additionally, he leaves behind his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were a source of great joy in his life.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a viewing on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at St. Matthew Parish in Philadelphia, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial and interment at Sunset Memorial Park.
Raymond’s legacy as a loving husband, father, and grandfather will continue to resonate in the hearts of those he touched throughout his life.
