Manny Jaobundit, Thai Immigrant and Beloved Father, Passes Away After Sudden Leukemia Diagnosis

Alhambra, CA – Manny Jaobundit, a kind-hearted and hardworking Thai immigrant, passed away on October 11, 2024, following complications from leukemia.

The illness was diagnosed in late September, leaving his family in shock as his condition deteriorated rapidly.

Manny was known for his warm personality, often engaging others in conversation despite the language barrier.

His daughter, Marissa Jaobundit, shared that he had been healthy just a few months ago, and the family had no indication of the severity of his condition.

"He was literally fine in August," Marissa said, reflecting on the sudden loss of her father.

Manny and his wife immigrated to the United States from Thailand in the late 1980s, where they built a life and raised their daughter.

Marissa described her father as wise, funny, and a great cook who always put his family first.

A GoFundMe fundraiser, organized by Marissa, has been launched to assist with funeral costs and bring Manny’s remains home.

Blanka Hino, a friend, expressed her condolences on Facebook, writing, "Please help my friend Marissa if you can. Her dad passed away a few days ago."

Manny Jaobundit is survived by his daughter and wife, who are still processing their loss while taking things "day by day."
