Loup City, Nebraska – Margaret “Marge” A. Mroczek, a beloved resident of Loup City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the age of 85. Marge was known for her deep commitment to family, community, and education.
Born on February 24, 1939, on a farm near Elyria, Nebraska, Marge began her teaching career at just 19 years old after earning her degree from Kearney State College. She married Raymond Mroczek on July 23, 1960, and together they raised five children.
Marge was a passionate seamstress, remembered for her generosity in making and sending handmade dresses to Haiti. She leaves behind her five children, 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, along with a legacy of love and service.
A devout member of St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church, Marge served as a Lead/Lector and Eucharistic minister. Her dedication to education spanned many years, first teaching in one-room schools and later as a substitute teacher in local high schools.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, September 23, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church, officiated by Father Richard Piontkowski. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 22, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church, with a Sodality Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Loup City Fire Department, Loup City EMTs, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
