Douglas, Massachusetts – Matthew Welch, a well-known Uxbridge High School alumnus, tragically passed away on September 27, 2024, at the age of 39.
His death has left family, friends, and colleagues mourning the loss of a cherished individual known for his leadership and kindness.
Born on October 6, 1984, in New Haven, Connecticut, Matt was admired for his dedication both in academics and athletics during his time at Uxbridge High School, where he was captain of the football team.
He later attended the University of Massachusetts – Amherst, where he formed lifelong friendships.
Professionally, Matt worked diligently for eight years to become a foreman at Upper Blackstone Clean Water in Millbury, where his leadership and teamwork left a lasting impact.
He was known for creating a positive work environment and was highly regarded by his colleagues.
Friends and family will remember him for his generosity, charm, and ability to bring people together.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Buma Funeral Home in Uxbridge, Massachusetts, from 5 to 8 PM.
