Watseka, Illinois – Minerva Mae “Mini” (Behrens) Kessinger, a cherished member of the Watseka community, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Iroquois Memorial Hospital.
She was 96 years old.
Minerva was born in Burlington, Illinois, to Harry and Dorothy (Wolfe) Behrens, and she was the second child in her family.
On August 11, she married Linard Ray Kessinger, her boyfriend who had just returned from the war, starting a lifelong journey together.
Known for her kindness and warmth, Minerva touched many lives throughout her years in Watseka.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and care that will not be forgotten.
Margo Yergler expressed her affection for Minerva, commenting, “Sweet Mini!” on a social media post.
