Camberley, Surrey – Nicholas Payne, a former chief of service at Frimley Park Hospital, tragically passed away on October 1, 2024, following a horrific car accident.
The accident occurred on the A325 carriageway near the Ravenswood Roundabout in Camberley, Surrey, when his vehicle plunged off a bridge, landing on the M3 motorway below.
According to Surrey Police, Payne’s car struck a concrete barrier before dropping onto the southbound M3 close to junction four, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Nicholas Payne, in his 50s, had a distinguished career in the medical field and was well-regarded by his colleagues and the medical community.
His sudden death has left many in shock and mourning, as tributes pour in to honor his legacy.
“He will be missed by all who knew and loved him,” one statement from the family read, reflecting the deep sorrow felt by those close to him.
Surrey Police have launched an investigation and are urging anyone with dashcam footage or evidence related to the crash to come forward, particularly concerning a black BMW i3 that was seen in the area before the incident.
Funeral arrangements for Nicholas Payne will be announced by his family at a later date.
