Vergennes, Vermont – Paul Leonel Paquin, 77, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2024, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
His sister, Linda Dries, shared a heartfelt message on Facebook, stating, “My heart is broken but he is at peace now… he was loved by all and his heart was big.”
Born on April 30, 1947, in Sheffield, Vermont, Paul dedicated his life to service, joining the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17 and earning a Purple Heart for his bravery in Vietnam.
After his military service, he became well-known in the building trades, particularly for his carpentry work.
Paul was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the American Legion, holding leadership roles in both organizations.
He leaves behind a large family, including his children and grandchildren, who will continue to honor his memory.
A military graveside service will be held at Prospect Cemetery in Vergennes on October 5, 2024, followed by a Celebration of Life at the American Legion Post #14.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Legion or Addison Home Health & Hospice.
