Peter Linkletter, Esteemed Public Servant and Musician, Passes Away in Ottawa Following Tragic Accident

Ottawa, Ontario – Peter Linkletter, a respected public servant and former member of the band 20th Century Boys, tragically passed away following a fatal accident on September 30, 2024.

Peter was a beloved figure in his community, known for his contributions to public service and his passion for music.

The news of his passing has left many in mourning, especially those who were close to him both professionally and personally.

Peter’s early career as a musician took him across North America, where he performed as a keyboardist and vocalist with the charity rock and blues band, 20th Century Boys.

His leadership extended beyond music, as he played a significant role in supporting important causes, serving as the Chair of the Board of the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.

A proud cancer survivor, Peter dedicated his life to helping others, both through his musical talents and his work as a public servant, most recently serving as the President of the Board of Directors at St. Mary’s Home.

Many took to social media to express their grief.

Margaret Mahoney wrote, “Oh so tragic. My deepest condolences to his family and the 20th Century Boys,” while Ruth Westwell offered, “Condolences to his family and band members.”

Funeral arrangements for Peter Linkletter will be announced by his family at a later date.

    Peter was my cousin. He will be deeply missed. Our family is small but we always made time to see each other. We were fortunate to see Peter & Marie this past summer..I am so thankful for the time we had.
    My deepest condolences to Marie & Hilary at this time.
