Bristol, Connecticut – Peter Speranza, a 35-year-old resident of Bristol, tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident on Sunday, October 6, 2024.
The fatal crash occurred around 11 a.m. on Mountain Road.
According to authorities, Speranza was riding west on Pine Street when he turned onto Mountain Road.
He was unable to navigate a curve and collided with an oncoming Honda CRV driven by 74-year-old Patrick Parente.
Sadly, Speranza succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while Parente sustained only minor injuries and was released from the hospital shortly after.
The crash prompted a temporary closure of Mountain Road as investigators from the Bristol Police Department’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team examined the site until approximately 4:30 p.m.
An investigation into the precise cause of the accident is ongoing.
Condolences poured in on social media, with the Bristol Swedish Social Club expressing, “RIP Peter Speranza… tragically taken too soon.

One Facebook user, Florence Lemieux, noted, “Was this the accident today on the Mt Road?” to which Christine Gaedeke replied, “Yes, he leaves two children behind.”
