Coonamble, New South Wales – Rex Chapman Sr., a cherished figure in his community and a renowned stockman, has sadly passed away following complications from a massive stroke.
Chapman, who suffered the stroke in January of this year, spent his final months receiving extensive care across various high-care facilities in Dubbo, Wellington, Dunedoo, and Coonamble.
He passed away at Coonamble Hospital, surrounded by the care of dedicated health professionals from the New South Wales Health Department.
Throughout his life, Chapman was known for his remarkable strength, resilience, and deep connection to the land and his family.
He is remembered fondly as “tough as nails,” embodying the qualities that defined a generation of hardworking stockmen.
In addition to being a highly skilled stockman, he was a devoted father and grandfather, whose presence will be greatly missed around campfires where he often shared stories and laughter with loved ones.
His family expressed their heartfelt sorrow, saying, “We’ll miss your stories and your antics around the campfire… Dad, you should soar with the angels.”
The passing of Rex Chapman Sr. marks the end of an era, but his legacy as a dedicated family man and a symbol of grit and tenacity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
