Newark, New York – Richard A. Allen, a devoted counselor and cherished member of the Newark community, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27, 2024, at the age of 73.
He died surrounded by loved ones at the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Centre in Rochester, New York.
Born on August 27, 1951, in Rochester, Richard dedicated much of his life to helping others, working as a counselor with Catholic Family Charities and FLACRA, where his guidance and compassion touched many lives.
In addition to his professional contributions, Richard was known for his wit, generosity, and love of life.
He had a deep passion for music, fishing, woodworking, and was a keen baseball fan.
Richard’s unique hobby of rock collecting reflected his love and appreciation for nature’s beauty.
Friends, family, and the community will gather at Park Presbyterian Church in Newark on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 11:00 AM to celebrate Richard’s life and legacy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Christina, and his four children: Alycia, Sarah, Julia, and Benjamin.
He also leaves behind four grandchildren and his sister Audrey.
Memorial contributions in Richard’s name can be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Centre, honoring his legacy of compassion and service.
