Cleveland, Texas – Richard Langston, a beloved member of the Cleveland community, is currently in hospice care following a lengthy and difficult battle with aggressive cancer. As he faces this challenging time, family and friends have rallied together to support him through a fundraising campaign.
In late summer 2023, Richard began experiencing a persistent sore throat that prompted medical attention. Despite initial tests returning clear results, a visible tumor was discovered in his throat, leading to further treatments. His journey included chemotherapy and radiation, but complications arose, including aspiration pneumonia and a diagnosis of metastatic cancer affecting his kidneys.
Richard’s health continued to decline, and he was brought home on hospice care on September 12. His family has shared that he has been peacefully resting, surrounded by loved ones, as they prepare for what may come next.
Madison Spear, who organized the GoFundMe campaign for Richard, described him as "one of the coolest people to know" and emphasized his strength throughout the ordeal. As of now, the fundraiser has raised over $1,300 of a $10,000 goal, aimed at assisting with medical expenses and memorial services.
