Kyabram, Victoria – Robert Charles ‘Rob’ Falconer, a well-known country singer-songwriter and cherished community member, passed away on October 15, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 73.
Rob Falconer was a talented musician, known for his love of country music and his ability to connect with people through his songs. His music resonated deeply with his audience, and he often performed at local gatherings, becoming a beloved figure in his community. His impact extended beyond the stage, as his kindness and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Falconer passed away peacefully at Monash Medical Centre, surrounded by loved ones. He is remembered not only for his music but also as a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather.
Peter Cox & Sons Funeral Directors shared a heartfelt tribute on Facebook, saying, “You had a smile for everyone, you had a heart of gold. Your weary days are over, your long battle has now passed, and in our hearts we know you have peace and rest at last.”
Joy Mirtschin, a close friend, commented, “So sorry to read this … he was an avid listener to our programs … even wrote a song about us. He loved country music. RIP Rob.”
A graveside service to celebrate Rob Falconer’s life will be held at the Numurkah Lawn Cemetery on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 11 am, where friends, family, and the community will come together to honor his memory and legacy.
