Ryan Michael Emigh, a resident of Wallaceton, Pennsylvania, passed away at the age of 37 on September 20, 2024, at Geisinger Hospital in Danville, PA. Ryan’s passing came after a courageous 10-year struggle with heart disease, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and dedication to his community.
Born on February 20, 1987, Ryan was known for his exceptional skills in operating heavy equipment, a talent he honed throughout his life. He was a proud graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola Area School District and was of Christian faith. His work ethic and passion for his craft were well respected by those who knew him.
Ryan’s family and friends remember him as a compassionate soul who was always willing to help others. "Most caring soul. If there were more of him in this world it would be a better place, he would do anything for anyone," shared Manda Dickson in a heartfelt tribute on social media. Ryan was particularly fond of his beloved Labradors, Chance and Chunk, who were his constant companions.
He is survived by his parents, John M. Emigh of Wallaceton, Florence Rafter and her husband Rick of Morrisdale, his sister Nicky Ennis and her husband Tim of West Decatur, as well as his nephew Riley, niece Lexis, and great-niece Eleanora. Ryan was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Dorothy “Nan” Emigh and his maternal grandparents Ed and Marie Verbeck, all of Morrisdale, PA.
Ryan’s love for the outdoors was well known. He often visited his fishing and hunting camps, enjoying the serenity of nature with close friends and family. His culinary skills, particularly in cooking and canning, were cherished by all who had the pleasure of sharing a meal with him.
The family has chosen to hold a private memorial service at a later date, with his final resting place being Grandview Cemetery in Morrisdale, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Strange & Weaver Funeral Service to help offset the unexpected funeral expenses.
Ryan Michael Emigh’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of many who were touched by his generosity and warmth. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the entire community.
