Montgomery County, MD – Sanaa Vil, a beloved senior at Sherwood High School, tragically lost her life in a fatal car accident on the morning of October 2nd, 2024.
Sanaa, known for her bright spirit and active involvement in the school’s Black Student Union and varsity women’s basketball team, was on her way to school when the accident occurred.
Her untimely passing has left her family, friends, and community in deep shock.
Sanaa was set to graduate in Spring 2025, with aspirations of attending college in the fall.
She is survived by her two parents, four siblings, and a large circle of friends and loved ones who are struggling to cope with the sudden loss.
The Vil family has organized a fundraiser to help cover funeral expenses, with heartfelt messages and donations pouring in from the community.
Tish Husbands shared on Facebook, “Sanaa is the Sherwood student who tragically lost her life Tuesday morning. Endless prayers being sent to the Vil family!”
Others, such as Tay Monique, Chris Hill, and Candy Terry, offered their condolences, sending prayers and love to the grieving family.
The outpouring of support reflects the deep impact Sanaa had on those around her, both in and outside of school.
