Sauk City, Wisconsin – Roger Allen Gee, a beloved member of the Sauk City community, passed away at the age of 84 on Friday, September 13, 2024, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.
Born on April 24, 1940, in Elton, Wisconsin, Roger was the eldest of four siblings. He was known for his passion for motorcycles, racing, and hill climbing in his youth. He worked as a mechanic at Mengo Motorcycle Sales before embarking on an adventurous life.
In 1961, Roger married Patricia Krahn, with whom he shared over five decades of love and companionship. They moved to Malibu, California, where Roger worked at Douglas Aircraft and earned his private pilot’s license. He also served in the U.S. Army, where he was part of the 11th Engineer Combat Battalion, constructing roads and bridges in Korea.
After his military service, Roger and Patricia settled in Mazomanie, Wisconsin, to raise their three sons: John, Corey, and Jason. Roger was a talented handyman who built the family home and shared many outdoor adventures, such as camping, hunting, and fishing, with his family.
Over the years, Roger held various jobs, including working at the Badger Army Ammunition Plant and as a semi driver. He retired after 25 years as a custodian at Wisconsin Heights School District, where he was cherished by both students and staff.
Roger was an active member of New Heights Lutheran Church and volunteered at the Sauk Prairie Senior Center. His kindness, sense of humor, and dedication to helping others left a lasting impact on the community.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at New Heights Lutheran Church, followed by a celebration of life at the Dorf Haus Supper Club.
