Kern County, CA – Shelli Janae Fuller, a 38-year-old woman from Shafter, California, has been identified as the victim in a tragic accident that occurred following her attempt to stop a street altercation in Bakersfield.
According to the Kern County Coroner’s Office, Fuller was struck by a passing vehicle on August 22, 2024, near Olive and Knudsen drives, after she stopped her car to intervene in a fight involving multiple individuals. Despite her best efforts to de-escalate the situation, Fuller was fatally injured and passed away on September 1, 2024, at Kern Medical due to the severity of her injuries.
The driver involved in the accident initially fled the scene but later reported the incident to the Bakersfield Police Department. Authorities have confirmed that the investigation into the crash is ongoing, but no additional details about potential charges against the driver have been released at this time.
Fuller’s untimely death has left the Shafter community in mourning.
