Hamilton, Ontario – Sharon Garden, the cherished President of the Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame and longtime McMaster University employee, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.
Her sudden passing has left the community in shock and deep sorrow.
The Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame announced her death, stating, “It is with heavy hearts that we share the shocking and tragic news of the passing of Sharon Garden, beloved President of the Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame.”
Sharon Garden, 58, was a resident of Hamilton, Ontario, and dedicated much of her life to community service and volunteer work.
She worked for 18 years at Hamilton Health Sciences before joining McMaster University, where she was a well-respected figure.
In addition to her professional achievements, Sharon was known for her love of expressive arts, including painting, drawing, and pottery.
Her family remembers her as the glue that held them together, with a radiant smile and a deep compassion for others.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024, at 1 p.m. at MacNab Street Presbyterian Church in Hamilton, following visitation on Sunday.
Sharon is survived by her children, Kyle and Jessica, and her extended family, who will miss her dearly.
In her memory, the family has requested donations to the Cancer Assistance Program, a cause close to Sharon’s heart.
